2020 Triangle Hard Matter Workshop

Energy Materials | Metamaterials | Quantum Materials

December 7-8, 2020

More than 300 faculty, postdoctoral associates and PhD students from Duke, North Carolina State and the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, as well as from across the U.S. and overseas, including Germany and China, attended virtually the inaugural Triangle Hard Matter Workshop, hosted by the Duke Materials Initiative, December 7-8, 2020. An internationally renowned plenary speaker and three sessions of science talks focused on each of three tracks: Energy Materials, Metamaterials and Quantum Materials.

“Collaboration really is a core strength of DMI and Duke, and this is another example of that," said Stefan Zauscher, director of DMI and a professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science (MEMS).
